Flag is one important symbol of a country

Every country has its symbol and identity through the use of a flag. This vital piece had its designs and colors based on the agreement of the people who agreed to make it.

For America, there is the U.S. flag in which it had its distinguished history that until now is treasured by every American. As we all know that the flag has 50 stars that represent the 50 States together with the red and white stripes. These stripes were for the 13 original colonies, namely:
Delaware
Pennsylvania
New Jersey
Georgia
Connecticut
Massachusetts Bay
Maryland
South Carolina
New Hampshire
Virginia
New York
North Carolina
Rhode Island & Providence Plantations

Congress established the stripes of the flag on April 4, 1818, and the 50 stars on July 4, 1960. That was the time Hawaii joined the union officially.

In history, it stated that there were many flags used in which one of these was the “Grand Union” – the first flag to be recognized by another country, and it said that it flew over G. Washington’s headquarters.

Can you guess who designs our flag? Perhaps you cannot because, in history, it stated that Cong. F. Hopkins claimed that he designed it, but there were some historians believed that it’s Betty Ross who made the first U.S. flag.

On the other hand, to resolve and to have the official flag of the country, the Continental Congress passed the so-called Flag Act in which it resolved to use the flag with thirteen stripes (for the thirteen United States), alternate red and white colors, thirteen stars in a blue background for the new constellation. And that noted on June 14, 1777.

It is pretty impressive how a country created its flag. So, what is the story of the flag in your country? Admittedly, it has its history as well. I do hope that you know the history of your country’s flag so you can have something to share with your families and friends.
