My Baby's Allergy
Ma Belle's Online Journal-
Last night, I gave my baby the Gerber turkey with rice mixed with vegetables. He was crying. He was opening his mouth. But still I forced him to eat. The more he cried out loud with him pushing me away. So I decided to change the food I prepared for him. I was very angry then as I raised my voice on him. He cried so loud and so deeply. After I prepared the other food, oatmeal with Gerber sweet potato, I immediately picked him up from his high chair and say sorry to him. Seems he was afraid of me with my loud voice. It’s then he calm down. And I said, I love you to him for he loves to hear that words always.
Anyways, with this new food that I prepared for him, he was not crying nor pushing me away. Every scoops, he ate and he savor the sweetness of the sweet potato with oatmeal. Of course, the usual scene of giving him lots of things to enjoy while eating. It’s one way of motivating him perhaps in order for my him to eat more. Or it’s one way of diverting his attention from the food to the things/toys for he is a picky eater. And every time he can detect every scoops of food, he will whine or even cry and slap my hands.
Oppsss, I almost forgot that I gave him a 1/4 tsp of benadryl. He was having a slight allergy. His mouth swelled. But after several minutes of taking the benadryl, the swelling slowly fade away. Huh! This is the reason why I’m afraid to give him some food for him to taste. He has allergy on cow’s milk, egg and peanuts. And peanut belongs to legume family. And the one of the ingredient in that gerber turkey with rice and vege is pea. And pea is one of the legumes. So my baby has a negative reaction to that pea.
